The Real Tortoise and the Hair By William One day the tortoise wanted some lotion. But when he was shopping, some hair-growing stuff fell on his head. Some hair started to grow on his head. It grew so long the tortoise couldn't see. One day he fell in a pond and when he came out the hair was gone. The next day his friend said I think you should have hair, so he went shopping and bought some hair stuff. The Dog and the Hog By Jessica Armonk, NY Once there was a dog. He was friends with a hog. They played all day, every day, together, even in bad weather! Once there was a bad storm so dog and hog stayed in their college dorm. The next day, they went out to play. Soon after, the sun went away. In their room they stayed all day. Even to hear their mother say, "Dinner!" Dinner was done and bedtime was to come. "Continued tomorrow!" they screamed aloud, as their mother tucked them into bed, safe and sound. Diary of a Kitten By Lera Age 9 League City, Texas September 13 I have been born today. Since I'm writing this I guess I'm a smart kitten. I'm a gray tabby. They call me daisy. My mother says it's because I'm so beautiful. September 20 I have had some time to look at my siblings. I have 4.Counting me it's 5, 3 girls, 2 boys. They are Rosie, me, and Blossom the girls, and Socks and Mittens the boys. And my parents, my mother Sunny an orange tabby and my father Stripes a gray tabby. This is my family. September 25 I have discovered that my owner is called by "Grandma". Mother says I will probably get a new owner soon. September 31 Ouch! We got shots today! A strange man called "vet" gave them to us. All the kittens including me meowed with panic. I do not approve of "vet". My parents say they don't approve either. October 10 Today we were introduced to "cat food". Father says it's yummy. Now I'll go try some. Mmm, it is yummy! I'll go eat some more! October 20 Today we were introduced to the "great outdoors". Father said there are many interesting creatures there like mice, birds, and fish. Also many places to explore! October 31 Today many strange people came and said "trick-or-treat" and got candy. November 1 Today the Johnson's came to visit. They particularly liked me and Rosie. November 13 I have been explained that Rosie and I are going to be adopted by the Johnson's, a man and lady. I'm kind of sad and kind of happy. Oh gosh! We are being put into carriers! The Johnson's sound nice. Oh! I almost forgot! This morning mom taught us how to use the litter box. U-oh! Soon I will have to go to my new home! Better go say bye to my siblings and parents. I think today is a very special day! November 14 Rosie and I have discovered that there is a dog living next door. In our opinion it barks too much! November 30 Now my sister and I are getting used to this place. Now I'll go play a game of "fight" with my sister. Then I'll go explore the grass. December 1 Too much exploring grass! Too sleepy to write! Yawn! December 3 I have remembered something important that I was taught. Too purr. Mom said humans like it. I'll go purr now. December 25 Today is a wonderful day. In the night I think I heard Santa in the house, but I wanted to get presents so I didn't jump and hiss. Sister said she thought the same thing. I have found a fluffy, squeaky, moving, mouse, saying on the paper Daisy. My sister got one too. Now we will go explore the snow. What a great first Christmas! December 26 The snow was such fun. Our claws and feet sank into it. I almost sank into it! But thank goodness Mrs. Johnson grabbed me! I experienced a great Christmas! Bad things about being a kitten: 1. Almost always have the same food. 2. Everything is so huge! 3. Everything is too loud! 4. Having to survive dogs! Good things about being a kitten: 1. Always adored by people! 2. Don't have to do many things! 3. Lots of places to sleep! 4. Being SO adorable! December 30 Now my sister and I will experience the rest of our lives. Maybe I'll write some more in my Diary later in my life. Bye! |
