#1 The Hacking Cats of Hawaii
By Marissa Dublin, Ohio Chapter 1 Today was just a normal day at the beach. But not last summer! I like Hawaii, but now that I found the horrifying secret about Hawaii, I don't like cats! My name is Kristen Belock. The horrifying secret is…..I saw cats that hack fire hairballs. When I went to the beach last summer, I knew something was wrong because there were giant cat prints in the sand. Not just any cat prints, but snake like cat prints. When people saw the prints they screamed and ran. When I came home, my parents were not there, so I went back down to the beach. I saw my parents there along with scientists, but where they went was another story. Chapter 2 The prints led up to a volcano!! My sister Marissa said, "Lets check it out". I said, "What?!?!? That's too dangerous, it might erupt! My sister said, "You are a big chicken." I said, "I am not". We argued and argued, then came a rumbling sound. It felt like the whole world was shaking. Finally, it came, it was horrific, and it looked like a cat like snake. It hissed and spat. That's when it happened. It hacked and that's when he blew fire at everyone. It made a bonfire and then sprouted wings and flew off. Chapter 3 The mob ran after it. I ran also, but when I saw the cats' brothers and sisters, I was frozen stiff. They looked terrifying. By their looks, I could see that they did not look happy. In fact, they looked hungry! I remembered what I packed for lunch. I packed lots of fish. Cats do like fish. But these were cat snakes! However, it was worth a try. Would it work? I tried it and they fought over the fish. I was correct after all, but soon my troubles were about to begin. Chapter 4 I didn't have enough fish! It was a Catastrophe! They let out a hiss like meows. They were screaming hungrily now. Let me tell you, it was horrible. What a horrible racket. I spend two hours fishing for my lunch and now I was very mad that they had eaten my lunch. I found sticks and rocks and started throwing them at the horrible creatures. At last the creatures could not stand their hunger any longer. The horrible snake like cats ate three people! For a while I thought this was just a nightmare. I smacked my head and looked around and those creatures were still there. We all ran back to the volcano spewing with lava! While we made a plan, little did we know that the creatures had plans of their own. Chapter 5 Our plan was to get more fish and gather up mice. Then we would leave mice and fish by their home, the volcano. We would make spears and hide behind trees. We would sneak up behind the creatures and hope and pray for luck. But not much time after I started explaining my plan, I heard a thunderous hack. I bet you would not believe what happened now. Chapter 6 The place was covered in green snake skin and fire! We ran for cover! It was freaky. I was horrified! It was the most bizarre thing I had ever seen in my entire life! I expected them to chase us but they stood still. I could not believe that they were not chasing us! I was weird. It seemed like this was a horror movie! For a minute I thought they were very cool, but when I saw what they were doing it looked like they forgot all about us. They had found the food; in other words "the bait". So that gave us more time to run! When we ran to our homes our houses were demolished. Then the ground rumbled and a terrible hacking roar and the whole world went black. Chapter 7 We were trapped in a cave. We had no flashlight, no water and nothing to eat. But then … light came in! So I pulled the rocks and we all got out. Then we saw those cat-like snakes again. They were hacking and there was snakeskin and fire everywhere. So we went and got our spears. When we were ready for attack, I felt something squeeze my body. I looked up and there were creatures everywhere. Chapter 8 They had become bigger and more viscous. It was terrifying as the beasts really brought out their snake instincts. They had sharp fangs and they were spewing out fire. It was freighting. Finally I smacked one of the creatures so everyone smacked the creatures. The beasts let go of us and that's when we saw it. There was a bottle of snake killer behind a tree. We hoped it would work but we would soon find out. Chapter 9 We went over to the snake beasts and sprayed them all, but it didn't work!! So someone call pest control and guess what? They believed us! But there was no time to ask why, because a pest control helicopter came but they also had to add something else to the snake killer, believe it or not they grew larger! The pest control knew what was going on, but our whole group was horrified! Then the beasts shrank! We were finally told the whole story by pest control. Pest Control was experimenting on the life of a cat when a snake came in and drank some liquid that was not supposed to be drunk. Then the snake sniffed the cat and melted into the snake-cat beast. The rest of the week was normal. I went to the pool and I met some friends named Sydney and Jordan.
